Your Childs First Visit

Your child's initial visit to the dentist can help you give your little one a great start for a lifetime of good dental health.

The first visit is used to educate both child and parent on the importance of their dental care, using gentle language and a caring manner so both feel comfortable. Sometimes hearing the same thing mom and dad try to tell them every morning and night can make the transition to better oral habits easier .
  • We want your child to feel comfortable about coming to see us. We’ll discuss with you how to care for an infant's or toddler's mouth.
  • We will give you instruction on the proper use of fluoride.
  • We are here to answer your concerns about good oral habits, including finger and thumb sucking.
  • We will suggest ways to prevent accidents that could damage the face and teeth
  • We offer an early orthodontic assessment to give you an idea of what skeletal to misalignment issues there may be.
  • We’ll discuss whether nitrous oxide sedation is an option that may be helpful in your child’s initial care.
  • We will have a discussion with your child regarding what is good and bad for their teeth and why.
  • The most important aspect of the visit is getting your child involved and an equal participant in their health.
